In the Construction Administration (CA) phase, the architect acts as the client's agent to observe and review the contractor's work to ensure it is meeting the conditions of the contract documents. During this valuable phase, a framework is provided to promote communication between the team, handle the flow of information, and implement a strategy to handle changes and/or unforeseen conditions during construction.

Storm Damage

If your home or commercial building unfortunately was damaged or destroyed by any of the recent hurricanes, Haas Modern Architecture + Design can provide signed and sealed design documents required by local jurisdictions for many of the repairs, reconstruction or even total rebuilds.   HMA+D is currently working on projects in Charlotte and Collier Counties requiring permit drawings for repairs and reconstruction.


One of the main factors that affect the scope of repairs due to storm damage is the 50% Rule.  

The "50% Rule" is a requirement mandated by the Floodplain Management Ordinance which requires any building or structure improved, damaged or repaired 50 percent or more than the market value of the building or structure (not including site) to be brought up to current Florida Building Code standards, including any FEMA or elevation requirements. 


Important! When having any repairs or improvements to your building or structure made, make sure that all your contractors and subcontractors are currently licensed in the State of Florida for the work to be performed.   Some jurisdictions require registration to work within a particular city or county.   You can verify state licenses here at the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation - Licensing Search Portal.
